A note from the desk
why every package begins with a walk through your product
Dear product team,
Most string files reach us the way jigsaw pieces do: tipped out of the box, face up, no picture on the lid. “Save.” “Back.” “You’re all set!” Each one is easy to translate and just as easy to get wrong — because the right Portuguese for “Save” depends on whether it saves a draft, a card number or a teammate’s seat.
So the desk is built around one habit: we look at the picture first. Before a word is written in Spanish, Portuguese or Vietnamese, we click through your staging build or your screenshots and give every key an address. What follows is written for that spot — its width, its reader, its moment in the flow.
The lantern is the other half. Your users should move through onboarding, billing and the help center without once sensing where the English used to be, and that light should stay steady from one release to the next: the same glossary, the same voice, the same people answering the phone.
Whenever you’re ready, send what you have. You’ll receive one fixed price — somewhere between $400 and $1,450 per language — before anything is touched, and we’ll take care of the rest.
With warm regards,— the desk at Jigsaw Lantern, Spring, TX
